3. Why we collect it — legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry — legal basis: your explicit consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), confirmed by the consent checkbox on the form.
- To send the field-notes mailing list — legal basis: your explicit consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a). You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing the studio.
- To prevent abuse of our forms (honeypot, server logs) — legal basis: our legitimate interest under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) in keeping the site available and secure.
4. Who we share it with
We share your data only with:
- Our email and SMTP provider, which delivers the messages our forms produce. This provider acts as a data processor under a written agreement and is selected for EU-region hosting where available.
- Our website hosting provider, which holds the standard server logs described above.
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share it with advertising partners. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: deleted after 24 months from last contact.
- Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe. After unsubscribing, your email is removed from the list within 30 days.
- Project-related records (if your enquiry becomes a client engagement): held for 6 years after project completion, in line with Irish contract and tax record obligations.
- Server logs: typically held by the hosting provider for up to 90 days.
6. Where your data is stored
Personal data submitted through this website is stored within the European Economic Area (EEA) wherever possible. If any processor we use is located outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards under GDPR Chapter V, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and a Transfer Impact Assessment.

- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased where there is no overriding legal reason to retain it.
- Restrict our processing of your data.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our legal basis.
